A small garden can hold plenty to notice without a long hike. Estrella Mountain Regional Park’s Pollinator Garden Walk is scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with Ranger Nikki leading visitors through plants and the insects and birds they attract.
The county lists an approximately half-mile route on flat packed gravel and cement sidewalk. The meeting point is the garden entrance by Area 1 and 2 ramadas at the park, 14805 West Vineyard Avenue. Registration is not required, but check current park entry information and the event page before travelling; no registration does not necessarily mean no entry charge.

The announced plant focus includes ocotillo, globemallow, desert willow, penstemon and native milkweeds. Wildlife sightings are possibilities rather than promises. The listing asks visitors to leave pets at home to improve the chance of seeing skittish pollinators, wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water.
Bring one observation question instead of a species checklist. Which flower receives repeated visits? How long does an insect stay? Let the ranger help interpret what you see, and avoid touching or moving wildlife for a photograph. A careful look at one plant can make a short walk feel much richer than its distance suggests.
